Poor Nintendo, the Wii can't catch a break. It's been the number one selling console for years, but you wouldn't know it from the dearth of news sites that bother to cover the thing seriously. The system's consistently beat the odds time and again--well, the analyst cobbled together ones, anyway--and gone on to outflank all the pundits, including yours truly.
All that, without so much as a pat on the back from the hardcore snobs.
Maybe you've heard the Wii hasn't been doing so hot of late. Nin…

One of the heavily requested PS3 features won't make it onto the XMB in 2009.
Cross game voice chat, known as system voice chat, was scheduled to be included in a PlayStation 3 Firmware Update (probably 3.10) "before the end of 2009". Unfortunately, we've just received unofficial word that the feature has apparently been delayed, presumably into 2010.
There was no specific reason given for the postponement of the much requested XMB feature at this point. Although 2010 was mentioned, no new date…

What do Jigsaw from "Saw," Freddy Krueger, and Jason from "Friday the 13th" all have in common, besides serial killing? Videogames, if the horror stars' latest round of promotions are to be believed.
Horror videogames are having a record year as zombies, monsters, demons, and chain-saw wielding psychos fight against the consoles, making videogames the new home of horror for some.

ok so i got tekken 6 this past tuesday and have been playing it for a while on single player since i don't much like online play, cause tekken 5 people are rude and stuff. but i decided to try it last night and really kinda liked it; no waiting rooms, people ranked around me, and it seemed nicer than tekken 5.
but of course people have to mess it up claiming that i am using Lili lag strategies or something. I'm like is there a game i can just play and not get some bullshit? here's what happened…

Nintendo Co plans to launch a new version of its DSi hand-held videogame player with a larger screen in Japan as early this year, the Nikkei business daily reported on Tuesday.
Nintendo hopes the introduction of a large-screen version will kick-start demand for the DSi, whose monthly sales have slowed to a third of their peak levels following its launch about a year ago, the Nikkei said.
The existing version has a 3.25-inch screen, roughly the same size as Apple Inc's iPhone.

In September, Sony's PlayStation 3 game console outsold its rivals in the United States for the first time, thanks to a slimmed-down price and size.
The PS3 took the top monthly spot with 491,800 units sold, more than Nintendo Wii (462,800 units) and Microsoft Xbox 360 (352,600 units), according to NPD Group. For more than a year, the Wii had reigned as the monthly sales champ.
Sony released the new PS3 Slim in mid-August, replacing the bulkier first PS3 incarnation and dropping the console's…

Sony's PS3 finally had its moment in the limelight, taking top honors in September hardware unit sales, but according to research firm NPD, Microsoft's Xbox 360 platform "contributed the most to industry unit and dollar sales," ringing up 32 percent of the month's turnaround video game revenue.
Microsoft was quick to point this out in a post-NPD sales call last night.

September was a pretty average month across the board in terms of hardware numbers. Analysts predicted the Sony PlayStation 3 to win the month, and it did with an impressive 491,800 units. Even more impressive, though, is that by posting such a vast increase in overall sales, the Sony PlayStation 3 saw an increase in sales over September 2008 by 111.62%. During September of 2008, the PS3 only moved 259,400 units.
